Baryon Number Fluctuation and the Quark-Gluon Plasma

چکیده
Because of the fractional baryon number of quarks, baryon and antibaryon number fluctuations in the quark-gluon plasma is less than those in the hadronic matter, making them plausible signatures for the quark-gluon plasma expected to be formed in relativistic heavy ion collisions. To illustrate this possibility, we have introduced a kinetic model that takes into account both production and annihilation of quark-antiquark or baryon-antibaryon pairs [1]. In the case of only baryon-antibaryon production from and annihilation to two mesons, i.e., m1m2 ↔ B B , we have the following master equation for the multiplicity distribution of B B pairs:

Hypercentral Constituent Quark Model and Isospin for the Baryon Static Properties
So far the static properties of hadrons have been introduced in various models. The static properties of hadrons (charge radius, magnetic moment, etc.) are useful for understanding the quark structure of hadron. In this work we have introduced the hypercentral constituent quark and isospin dependent potentials. Here constituent quarks interact with each other via a potential in which we have ta...
متن کاملFluctuation probes of quark deconfinement
The size of the average fluctuations of net baryon number and electric charge in a finite volume of hadronic matter differs widely between the confined and deconfined phases. These differences may be exploited as indicators of the formation of a quark-gluon plasma in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, because fluctuations created in the initial state survive until freeze-out due to the rapid ex...
متن کاملModeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions
By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...
متن کاملIP-BBSR/97-15, April’97 Surface Induced Phase Transition in Quark-Gluon Plasma Produced in Laboratory
We discuss an outside-inside scenario for a first order quark-hadron transition in the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) expected to be produced in heavy ion collisions, wherein the entire QGP region itself becomes like a subcritical bubble, and starts shrinking. We argue that this shrinking QGP bubble will lead to concentration of baryon number in a narrow beam like region in center, which can be detec...
